Bernardo S. Hinojosa
Biography
Bernardo S. Hinojosa is assistant professor of English at Stanford University. His research and teaching focus on the literature of later medieval Europe, especially Middle English and Latin, and its relationship to the intellectual movements of the period. His book-in-progress, Before the Eyes: Medieval Literature and the Art of Experiment, traces the development of experimentalist thinking in the natural philosophy of the Middle Ages; it shows, in turn, how these new modes of inquiry shaped literary representations of the material world and its imperceptible processes in vernacular poetry and drama. His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in New Medieval Literatures, the Journal of Medieval and Early Modern Studies, and New Literary History, among other venues.
