Catherine Nicholson is Professor of English at Yale University, where she teaches and writes about early modern literature and the history of reading. She is the author of Reading and Not Reading The Faerie Queene (2020) and Uncommon Tongues (2014) and is at work on a book on emergent literacy called The Renaissance Before Reading.
